Church School

Youth Church School is a time of spiritual growth, reflection, community, and fellowship.  Each Sunday morning we begin with conversation over breakfast in the youth room.  We continue with a time of community praises and concerns then go into a time of silent reflection and community prayer.

The Bible study portion of church school is focused on a particular topic each Sunday.  Since January 2008, we have been focusing our attention on the Gospel, as recorded in Mark.  This is one of the most understudied of the Gospels, but it holds many powerful lessons and teachings of the life of Jesus Christ.  This inductive study in Mark allows youth the opportunty to pose questions, engage in honest dialogue, and gain both historical and contemporary appreciation for scripture and its application in our daily lives.

One of the central resources for this study is Tom Wright's Mark for Everyone.  This book is not required for youth, but is simply mentioned as an additional resource in the study of Mark.

We invite all youth of the church to attend each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the youth room.  Guests are always welcome and bringing a friend each Sunday is encouraged.  Hope to see you there!

Please e-mail Eric at eric@nsdbc.org if you have any questions or comments about church school.
